Meet Glyn Allen
Meet Glyn also known as kHz. A musician and sound designer, whose unique blend of influences and interests have resulted in some innovative and inspiring wavetables and presets for the Orb Synth X synthesiser. From his early beginnings as a studio engineer and DJ, playing drum n bass on internet radio station “DB9 Radio” to creating electronic music and designing sounds for film and music production.

“As a sound designer for Hexachords’ Orb Synth X, I was keen to incorporate a vast range of sound sources into the creation of the wavetables. My aim was to provide users with an unparalleled palette of sounds that would enable them to craft truly unique tones.
As for the presets, my music inspirations in genres such as Drum n Bass and Hip Hop and EDM in general held a strong influence throughout. I also took inspiration from the cyberpunk film genre . Giving the Orb Synth X a unique palette of sounds that is perfect for crafting cutting-edge electronic music”
The wavetables take some inspiration from sounds in the physical world which are complex in nature. Many of which based on recordings I made at various locations including from machinery at a metal fabrication work shop for instance and sounds found in nature such as bird song. These wavetables provide users with a variety of timbral content that can be used to create their own unique and unusual sounds .
